Tattoo is an anthropomorphic seated owl/person with a lot of attitudes. For two years I studied the owl and more specifically the Barn Owl in women’s folk law and literature. Then I let the studies rest for six months and then I began to create images with the Barn Owl featuring strongly in the art work and at the same time creating with my hands and heart and not my head.
"Skinny Dipping", has sexual undertones and is soaked in the influence of inuendo. I address my personal sexual impressions by using anthropomorphic figures. I find this method quite enjoyable.

"Madame Owl with Owlets", This art work was inspired by Renaissance tile found in Florence and Sienna, Italy. I used Chinese decals on the back ground tile to create the famous cobalt blues of the 15th century. I use different iconography to create unfathomable art. I work with my hands and my heart. "Owl with Dog", is another sexually motivated artwork. The meaning of which is somewhat of a mystery to me.
I will enter the studio with an artistic block and just play with the clay as a child would. It is out of this play that much of my work has appeared.
"Mermaid with Five Owls" is another instance where I just played with the clay until an image appeared. My dear Mother, Shirley had just died and I was beside myself. My mother was a child of nature in a highly moral sense and communicated with the Divine through Nature.
